How To Make a Chatbot in Minutes With LaunchBot
If you've been putting off adding a chatbot to your website because it sounded technically complicated or expensive, this guide will change that. With LaunchBot — LaunchGPT's AI assistant — you can have a fully trained chatbot live on your site in the time it takes to finish a coffee.
What Is a Chatbot and Why Does Your Business Need One?
A chatbot is a software program that has conversations with your website visitors automatically — answering questions, qualifying leads, guiding purchases, and handling support — without a human on the other end.
Modern AI chatbots like LaunchBot go well beyond the scripted, decision-tree bots of five years ago. They are trained on your actual content — your website pages, PDFs, product documentation, help articles — and can answer questions with context and accuracy that reflects your business specifically, not generic internet knowledge.
Here is why businesses are deploying them now rather than later.
They work around the clock. Your chatbot handles inquiries at 2 AM on a Sunday the same way it does at noon on a Tuesday. No lost leads, no unanswered questions, no customer left waiting until your team is back in the inbox.
They reduce repetitive support volume. Most support teams answer the same 20 to 30 questions repeatedly. A well-trained LaunchBot handles those automatically, freeing your team to focus on complex issues that genuinely need human attention.
They capture leads your forms miss. LaunchBot collects a visitor's name, email, and question directly in the chat window and syncs that to your CRM. A visitor who was not ready to fill out a contact form will often engage in a chat conversation.
They improve conversion. Visitors who get instant, relevant answers during the consideration phase are more likely to take the next step. LaunchBot provides those answers at the moment of intent.
They scale without headcount. Whether you have 10 visitors a day or 10,000, your LaunchBot handles the volume without additional staffing cost.

How To Make a Chatbot With LaunchBot: Step-by-Step
1 Go to LaunchBot and start your free trial
Visit trylaunchgpt.com/tools/ai/launchbot-ai-assistant and click "View pricing and trial." Select the plan that fits your needs — or start with Starter and upgrade as you grow. The 7-day trial gives you full access, no payment details required.
2 Choose how to feed your chatbot its knowledge
Once inside the dashboard, click "Create New Chatbot." LaunchBot supports several input types, and you can combine them freely.
- Website URL (full crawl). Paste your root URL. LaunchBot fetches all the links it finds across your site and presents them for review. Select the pages you want included.
- Single Link. Train on one specific page — a product spec sheet, a pricing page, a detailed FAQ. Paste the URL and LaunchBot ingests just that page.
- Sitemap. Append
/sitemap.xmlto your domain and paste that URL for a comprehensive, structured list of every indexed page. - File uploads. LaunchBot accepts PDF, DOCX, PPTX, CSV, TXT, and Markdown files. Upload product manuals, pricing sheets, onboarding guides — anything useful.
- YouTube, Zendesk, Gitbook, raw text paste. Connect content from video, help desk platforms, or documentation tools directly. Or paste text manually if it isn't hosted anywhere yet.
3 Select your knowledge sources
After fetching links or uploading files, review the results and check the sources you want included. Be deliberate: the quality of your chatbot's answers depends directly on the quality of what you train it on. Prioritize pages that actually answer customer questions.
4 Train the chatbot
Click "Next" to start training. LaunchBot processes the selected sources and builds its knowledge base. Depending on volume, this takes one to a few minutes. You'll see a progress indicator and a confirmation when complete.
5 Configure your chatbot's identity
Set up the visible details your visitors will see: chatbot name, welcome message, placeholder text inside the input field, brand colors, and quick prompt buttons (preloaded FAQ shortcuts visitors can tap without typing). Click "Create Chatbot" when ready.
If you need name ideas, use LaunchGPT's free AI Chatbot Name Generator.
6 Add more knowledge after creation
You are not limited to what you fed the bot during initial setup. After creating the chatbot, continue expanding its knowledge base at any time — add more URLs, upload new files, or paste additional text content as your product or documentation evolves.
7 Enable auto-sync and set your refresh schedule
LaunchBot's auto-sync feature rescans your linked pages and retrains the bot on a schedule you set — daily on Growth and Scale plans, weekly on Starter. This ensures the bot never gives visitors outdated information. Need an immediate retrain after a major product update? Click "Retrain" in your dashboard.
8 Set up lead capture
Configure the bot to collect visitor information — name, email, question — at a point you define in the conversation. Captured leads are stored in your dashboard and can be exported to CSV or synced to your CRM via the Zapier integration or API (Growth and Scale plans).
9 Configure human handoff
For conversations that go beyond the chatbot's ability to help, human handoff routes the conversation to a live agent. Connect LaunchBot to Intercom, Crisp, Zendesk, or your preferred live chat platform in the escalation settings section.
10 Embed your chatbot on your website
You have two deployment options:
- JavaScript snippet. Copy the one-line embed code from your dashboard and paste it before the closing
</body>tag on any website — Webflow, Framer, custom-built, or any HTML-based platform. - WordPress plugin. Install the LaunchBot WordPress plugin, connect it to your account, and the chat widget appears automatically. No manual code placement required.
11 Test your chatbot before promoting it
Before driving traffic to pages with your new chatbot, test it yourself. Ask the kinds of questions your real visitors would ask — about pricing, features, how to get started, common objections, and edge cases. Note anywhere the answers are incomplete or inaccurate, then go back and improve those source pages.
LaunchBot gets sharper over time. The daily email summaries on Growth and Scale plans highlight what visitors are asking, where gaps exist in the knowledge base, and which conversations led to handoffs — giving you a continuous improvement loop without manual monitoring.
